Where in this remote place?
Beloved of the Lord!
Joint Heirs of Christ!
His disciples answered, “Where in this remote place can anyone get enough bread to feed them?” Mark 8: 4
The disciples were looking at a minimum of 4000 people and only had 7 loaves of bread with them.
Where in this remote place they asked. We in our human eyes see the impossible circumstances surrounding us and ask Where in this remote place, Where in this lack, Where in the impossible situation.
Yet it’s in the remote places where we see God the most clearly. It’s in the remote places we see His character. It’s in the remote places where we see God’s heart. It’s in the remote places where we see His beauty, His majesty, His power. It’s in the remote places where we see His attentive care for us, that He really is listening and that He really does love us. It’s in the remote places where He writes Himself on our hearts, pours out His love to us and it’s where we see our heart grow so deeply for Him.
And in the remote places of this life, just like the disciples saw seven basketfuls of overflow provision, we will get to see God provide in the remote places too, with basketfuls of overflow of provision. For He gives exceedingly more than we hope or could even think. But we also get the priceless wisdom and knowledge of God’s character, that fills us with a lasting love and peace that supplies us with a continual feast on the inside of us, daily and nightly, until we go to see the Lord — our Provider, our Father who loves us—face to face.
May we know that we know that we know that the remote places in our lives are just opportunities to receive and understand more and more of God’s great love for us.
