The Way of Righteousness

Those Made New!
Those with the Clean Undefiled Hearts and the Spirit of Jesus Christ!

For John came to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. Matthew 21: 32

The way of righteousness is submitting to God receiving forgiveness of our sins.
John the Baptist led everyone to the river to be baptized in water, to make them symbolically clean.
After he had them recognize they needed forgiveness of their sins confessing their sins to God.
While they generally knew this and made sacrifices at the temple for their sins, this was a new way.
The new way of righteousness, that they could just turn to God, and receive their forgiveness being washed clean.
That God was offering it to them and that no animal had to be sacrificed.

What they had yet to learn, is that there was still one final sacrifice that had to be made, Jesus Christ for all the sins of the world to be covered.

And now just like those who learned the new way from John the Baptist, we can go to God, confess our sins, our sinful nature, and receive complete forgiveness from God, through Jesus Christ, who makes us clean.

May we know that we know that we know, the way to God, is to receive the righteousness of Jesus Christ, accepting the forgiveness for our sins, that He paid for on the cross.
