So Great is His Love

For as High as the Heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear Him. Psalm 109: 11

He tells us that His love is so great, so vast, that to understand the enormity, He gives us a visual of the heavens above us.

When I look up to the heavens I see planes, birds, and clouds floating and flying above me. I see lightning piercing the sky, the sun blazing above, the moon glowing, the stars twinkling, all far beyond my reach. The stars are so far away in the heavens that mathematicians can only estimate the distance, nothing human-made being able to travel that far.

And He says that His love for us, is that great, as those heights are above us, around us.

His love was so great for us, He didn’t want to live without us. He knowing we could never breach the chasm between us and Him, our Holy God, so He came to us.

He sent Jesus to come down to redeem us, buying us back from the world, and from death, to give us His Spirit to live inside us daily and nightly, never to be parted from Him. Now we have a future, where we will live with our loving Father, to see Him face to face, in a place without death or sickness or pain, but to live with Him in completeness and fullness of love and joy, forever and ever.

So Great is His Love.

May we know that we know that we know His love for us is as great as the heavens are high.
